Twitter / X Downloader Privacy Policy

This policy explains how data is handled when you use the Twitter / X Video Downloader on this site. It covers the links you paste, the history kept in your browser, the feedback you choose to send, and the technical data our pages exchange with our servers.

This page focuses on the downloader. Our site-wide policy also applies: Deepswap Privacy Policy

Last updated: April 1, 2026

1. Information You Provide

We only receive what you actively give the tool:

  • The public Twitter / X post link you paste into the input box.
  • The feedback category, message and contact email you type into the feedback form. The email field is optional and is only sent when you fill it in.
  • Nothing else is requested. We never ask for your Twitter / X username, password or account access, and this tool does not require a Deepswap account.

2. How Links Are Processed

A pasted link is used for one purpose: to look up the video files a post already exposes publicly, so the tool can offer you the available formats and qualities.

The tool only works with posts anyone can open without signing in. It does not access private accounts, protected posts, direct messages, or anything that requires a login.

We do not claim that links are never recorded. When a link is analysed the request is handled by our service infrastructure, and our hosting and CDN providers keep standard access logs, typically including IP address, timestamp, user agent and the requested path. A request that carries a link may therefore appear in those logs.

We do not publish pasted links, sell them, or use them to build advertising profiles.

3. Search and Paste History

The recent-links list under the input box is stored only on your device, in your browser localStorage under the key tvd_history. It keeps up to five of your most recent links and is not uploaded to us as a history record.

Choose Clear all to delete that list from your browser straight away. Clearing your browser site data removes it too.

We also keep a short per-link flag in sessionStorage so the feedback bar does not ask you the same question twice in one browsing session. It disappears when you close the tab.

This section describes browser storage only. It does not mean our servers keep no record of a request. See section 2 above for what happens on the server side.

4. Downloaded Content

We claim no ownership of the videos you download. Files are saved to your own device, and this site does not build a public library of the media you fetch.

You are responsible for what you download. Only download content you own or are otherwise authorised to use.

  • Respect copyright and any other laws that apply where you live.
  • Follow the Twitter / X Terms of Service and platform rules.
  • Do not use downloaded material to harass, impersonate or mislead anyone.

5. Cookies and Technical Data

This tool sets no advertising cookies of its own. The cookies involved are the ones our site needs in order to talk to its API:

  • deviceId and deviceSalt: a random identifier generated in your browser and stored as a long-lived cookie. Our API requires it to accept requests, including feedback submissions.
  • region and region_traced: your approximate country or region, detected once through Cloudflare and cached for about 24 hours so regional content is correct.

Every API request our pages make also carries basic technical data: browser user agent, interface language, timezone, detected region, app version and the device identifier above. If you are signed in to a Deepswap account elsewhere on the site, your login token is sent as well. Signing in is not required to use this tool.

The site includes an optional Google Analytics 4 integration. It loads only when a measurement ID is configured for the deployment you are visiting; when it is not configured, no analytics script is loaded and no analytics events leave your browser.

6. Third-Party Services

Delivering this page involves a small number of third parties:

  • Hosting and CDN providers that serve the page, its static assets and media.
  • Cloudflare, used for delivery and for the region check described above.
  • Google Fonts, used to load the typefaces this page renders with.
  • Google Analytics 4, only when analytics is configured for the deployment you are visiting.

Twitter / X is a separate, independent platform. This tool is not sponsored by, endorsed by, affiliated with or operated by X Corp., and your use of Twitter / X stays governed by their own terms and privacy policy.

7. Data Retention and Security

  • Local history and the feedback session flag: kept on your device until you use Clear all, close the tab, or clear browser data.
  • deviceId and deviceSalt cookies: long-lived, until you clear cookies. The region cookie expires after about 24 hours.
  • Feedback you submit: kept by our support team for as long as needed to reply to you and to improve the tool.
  • Infrastructure access logs: kept for a limited period by our hosting and CDN providers, under their own retention schedules.

Traffic between your browser and our services runs over HTTPS, and feedback submissions stay accessible only to the people who handle support. No method of transmission or storage over the internet can be guaranteed to be completely secure, so we make no claim that this service is fully secure.

8. Your Choices

  • Delete your local history at any time with Clear all, or by clearing your browser site data.
  • Skip the feedback form, or send it without an email address if you do not want a reply.
  • Block or remove cookies in your browser settings. Note that our API may reject requests that arrive without the device identifier.
  • Stop using the tool whenever you like. Nothing keeps running in the background once you leave the page.
  • Contact us with a privacy question or a request for help with your data.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy as the tool evolves, for example if we change how links are processed or which third-party services we rely on.

When we do, the Last updated date at the top of this page is revised. Meaningful changes are reflected here before or when they take effect, so it is worth checking back occasionally.

10. Contact Us

Privacy questions about this tool can be sent to our support address, the same contact used across the site:
